CRS - Coordinate Reference System
When you work with a GIS application like QGIS or ArcGIS one of the most important parameter you need is to decide on the CRS of your project on QGIS. You would normally work in a projected coordinate like UTM WGS84 in the zone your project is in.
Note: if you add Google Earth web map with OpenLayersPlugin your project CRS will be automatically changed to WGS84 Pseudo Mercator. QGIS has an reproject 'On the Fly' option which with automatically convert your project CRS to Pseudo Mercator.
EPSG - European Petroleum Survey Group
All CRS projections are assigned an EPSG code which can be used in GIS applications to automatically assign the projection to the map. The EPSG code for WGS84 Pseudo Mercator is 3857. The code for WGS84 UTM Zone 48 is 32648 (Ulaanbaatar). The code for WGS84 UTM Zone 50 is 32650 (Choibalsan).
